Question 1

What is the cost per square meter of an industrial steel warehouse building?

Accepted Answer

An industrial steel warehouse building typically costs between USD 25 and USD 60 per square meter, depending on span, eave height, crane capacity, steel grade, surface treatment and cladding. A standard Q355B frame with hot-dip galvanizing and single-skin cladding sits at the lower end, while multi-span buildings with cranes, mezzanines or insulated sandwich panels sit higher. Welldone Steel provides itemized FOB/CIF quotations based on your drawings and site conditions.

Question 2

What steel grades are used for prefabricated steel structures (Q355B vs ASTM A36 / Q235B)?

Accepted Answer

Welldone Steel fabricates primary framing (columns and rafters) from Q355B (equivalent to S355JR) structural steel by default, with Q235B or ASTM A36 available for secondary members. Q355B offers a higher yield strength (about 355 MPa) than Q235B/A36 (about 235-250 MPa), allowing lighter and more economical frames for large spans, while ASTM A36 is commonly specified for US-code projects. All steel is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates (MTC).

Question 3

What international engineering standards do Welldone Steel buildings comply with (AISC 360, EN 1090, ISO 9001)?

Accepted Answer

Our design and fabrication comply with AISC 360 (US), EN 1090 / Eurocode 3 (EU CE marking) and ISO 9001:2015 quality management. Welding is executed to AWS D1.1 and EN ISO 3834. Buildings can also be engineered to local codes including GB 50017 (China), AS/NZS and IBC as required by your jurisdiction.

Question 4

How fast can a custom steel warehouse or factory building be manufactured and exported?

Accepted Answer

After design approval, typical production lead time is 25-45 days for a standard warehouse or factory building, with more complex projects taking 45-60 days. Ocean shipping adds 15-35 days depending on the destination port. Overall, most international orders are delivered within 6-10 weeks from drawing sign-off, and a detailed production and shipping schedule is issued at the quotation stage.

Question 5

What surface treatment options are available for corrosion protection (Hot-Dip Galvanizing HDG vs Epoxy Paint)?

Accepted Answer

We offer multiple corrosion-protection systems: (1) Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) to ISO 1461 / ASTM A123, typically 60-85 microns, suitable for 25-50+ years in aggressive C4-C5 environments; (2) epoxy zinc-rich primer plus intermediate and topcoat paint systems (80-200 microns DFT) to ISO 12944, a cost-effective option for C2-C4 environments; and (3) hybrid systems such as HDG plus a decorative topcoat for maximum durability. The optimum system is selected based on your project corrosivity category and required design life.

Question 6

How are structural steel buildings packaged and shipped for international ocean export?

Accepted Answer

All components are pre-fabricated, marked per erection drawings and packed in seaworthy bundles. Steel members are secured with steel strapping on pallets or cradles, small parts such as bolts and accessories are boxed, and loads are optimized for 40ft HQ / 40ft OT / 20ft containers or break-bulk shipping. We provide full export documentation (packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and mill test certificates), commonly ship on FOB or CIF terms, and share container loading photos before dispatch.

Question 7

What warranty does Welldone Steel provide on structural steel buildings?

Accepted Answer

Our structural steel frames are backed by a standard manufacturing warranty, while our anti-corrosion coating systems (epoxy primer or Hot-Dip Galvanizing) are rated for 15-50+ years of protection depending on the treatment selected and the local environmental exposure.

Question 8

Do you provide design and shop drawings for approval before production?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After receiving your requirements and site conditions, our engineering team produces structural design drawings and detailed shop (fabrication) drawings for your review and approval. Production begins only after written drawing approval, ensuring the building matches your specification exactly.

Question 9

What payment terms and shipping documentation do you offer for international steel structure orders?

Accepted Answer

We offer standard international trade terms, typically a deposit via T/T with balance payment before shipment, and support Letter of Credit (L/C) arrangements for larger contracts. As an experienced steel structure manufacturer exporting to 40+ countries, we manage seaworthy export packing, container loading and full shipping documentation, and assist with customs clearance paperwork at the destination port.
